Senior Years Courses

We offer an English and French Immersion Program.

Graduation Requirements
Students are required to complete a minimum of 30 credits to receive a Manitoba High School Diploma.

Immersion Diploma requirements: as of September 2025, grade 9 and 10 students must complete a minimum of 15 immersion credits to receive the immersion diploma.  Students in grades 11 and 12 as of September 2025 must complete a minimum of 14 credits. 

  • Grade 9 students must select 9 courses in total (6 compulsory & 3 optional courses)
  • Grade 10 students must select 5 compulsory and up to 5 optional courses.
  • Grade 11 students must select 4 compulsory and up to 6 optional courses.
  • Grade 12 students must select 3 compulsory and up to 7 optional courses.
Graduation/Post-Secondary Information
Students who are considering attending a post-secondary institution should be aware that some grade 12 courses do not fulfill university entrance requirements.  These courses include Physical Education 40F, Credit for Employment 40G, and Volunteer credits.

Students and their families are encouraged to speak with Mrs. Penner about college or university entrance requirements, and to visit post-secondary websites to best plan for their grade 12 courses.
 
University of Manitoba Entrance Requirements
  • 5 credits at the Grade 12 level in courses designated S, G, U or C.
University 1 admission requirements: a minimum average of 70% over the following, with no less than than 60% in each course - English 40S, Math 40S, two academic 40S courses from the approved list on the U of M's website:    U of M website (approved list) and one other 40S or 40G course.  Limited admission may be granted to students with an average of 65% over those courses, with no less than 55% in each course.

University of Winnipeg Entrance Requirements
  • 5 credits at the Grade 12 level in courses designated S, G, U or C.
Have an average of at least 65% in the best three 40S courses including an English 40S and Marth 40S course, plus one other 40S credit from a different subject area, and an additional 40S or 40G course.

Red River Polytech Entrance Requirements
Admission requirements vary greatly by program - please visit their website for more details.
 
Université de Saint-Boniface Entrance Requirements
A minimum mark of 60% in Français 40S, plus an average of 70% over three Grade 12 level courses designated S or U.  Limited admission may be offered to students with a minimum mark of 60% in Français 40S, plus an average of 63-69% over three Grade 12 level courses designated S or U.  Some programs may have additional high school requirements, please visit the Université de Saint-Boniface website for more details.
